HEAD GIRLS' VARSITY VOLLEYBALL COACH
About Wildcat Sports
Volleyball is a team sport where two teams of six compete against each other. It continues to rank in the top five most popular high school sports.
At Waterford High School, female athletes have the opportunity to compete in volleyball on a variety of levels - the Freshman team, the JV team, and the Varsity team.
Playing volleyball provides student athletes the opportunity to learn tactical skills, cooperation, and coordination in a positive environment that fosters growth and a passion for the sport. It also develops life skills that will be used outside of the sport, like commitment, time management, team work, confidence, and integrity.
As with our entire sports programs, our volleyball coaches hold our student-athletes to a high standard. Athletes are expected to be positive role models on campus, and arrive at both practices and games on time and prepared to play.
While competing on sports teams can open doors for future competitive and scholarship opportunities, we understand that most of our athletes will be pursuing futures outside of sports. With this in mind, we expect our athletes to prioritize academics first. To be a part of Wildcat Volleyball, student-athletes must maintain a GPA of 2.0. However, homework and schoolwork are not excuses to miss practice or games. Athletes must be able to manage their time and other commitments in addition to their playing time. If an athlete begins falling behind in the classroom during the course of the year, they will need to meet with both the head coach and the counselor to develop a plan to get back on track.
